John Phoenix is the most legendary defense attorney to ever exist. He is capable of using psychic abilities, among other things, to control others and things around him. He is a trans-universal being and is one of the only survivors from his universe, aside from Sparky Brushel. His existence is a polar opposite to Mike Meekins, and if they met, bad things would happen, probably.

| John Phoenix abhorred all crime, big or small, but he especially abhorred murder, which was one of the 3 Big Crimes which John Phoenix hated and which he thought should be punishable by death. |
John Phoenix has a strong sense of what is right and wrong and adheres to his moral code very strictly. However, what he deems correct and incorrect appears to be fluid, as though others are to be limited by what the law tells them to do, JP often does things that go outside of them.
JP had a god complex (or perhaps, a protagonist complex) and is described by his own author to be a complete maniac who is capable and willing of gunning down people in court. JP experiences little to no compassion for other's personal situations.
JP's previous inexperience with the world lead him to make false or extremely large logical leaps to explain why things happen. JP found himself incapable of crying for most of existence, and when he cried for the first time, he instead thought that his face was bleeding. JP is more used to violence and hatred than he is emotional vulnerability, and this exhibits itself in his treatment to his uncle, Phoenix Wright, who JP frequently smacked and beat up.
However, after he was brought into the Snatverse, he has mellowed out slightly. His god complex was challenged extremely by the fact that he was no longer the protagonist of his own story, and that his life was saved by someone else, not him.
JP experiences an extreme disconnect from himself and others now, which manifests in a frequent feeling of being lost, alone, and generally isolated from the people around him. He feels as though nothing he did in his past mattered, because now he lives in a perfectly domestic world where he never even existed in before he was forced to.
JP doesn't live humbly or act very differently from how he did before, but he was greatly ego-checked after he was stripped of all his agency.
History
Due to its length and spoiler nature, John Phoenix's history has been hidden for the sake of scrolling ease.
Childhood
JP was born to Mary Wright at the hospital as an alive baby boy even though doctors thought he was dead. His name was derived from John from the Bible (which John? That’s up for debate) while Phoenix is derived from Phoenix Wright, his uncle, since his Father had died in The War and also because John was a stillborn but miraculously came back to life. After reaching out to Wright’s attorney badge, he is showered in light and absorbs magical powers from it while also getting a glimpse at his future as a lawyer.
He had a childhood that lasted about two months since he has a sped up aging process. At one month old he was effectively twelve years old and 'his IQ was measured to be in the range of IQ's that is considered to be the range in which geniuses are said to found.' He was placed in school and 'did poorly since he suffered from Autism, OCD, and ADD. His disorders made it hard for him to pay attention in class or do his assigned work.' He also got into fights with multiple teachers. As a result he was placed into the Special Ed. class which he resented.
At two months, when he had aged to eighteen years old, he escaped his classroom while lighting a small fire as a distraction. After responsibly pulling the fire alarm, he made his way to the Wright Anything Agency and became Wright’s apprentice. He was then taken to court in order to co-council in Trucy Wright’s trial and when given the court record's information, he ended up solving the case, getting Trucy declared innocent almost immediately. At the end of this trial, JP sentenced the guilty party to their death.
Original life
After his debut, JP unlocks his psychic powers and demonstrates them to Wright while also bringing up the concept of Merlin, an unknown entity who crafted Wright's badge. They are then interrupted by Gumshoe with the news of JP’s mother being found dead. He is then given the bullet that killed his mother. He solves the case in a couple seconds and makes his way to Kurain Village with Wright in tow. On the train, he starts reforming Matt Engarde via telepathy. Once they arrive at Kurain, Maya meets up with them but is kidnapped, however before the kidnapper can get away, JP kills them with the bullet he was given.
Maya then tries to channel Mary but is unable to so she channels Mia Fey instead. Mia then informs the Phoenixes that Manfred von Karma and Damon Gant have escaped Heaven while also stealing an Angel Gun. Another kidnapper arrives but is also killed by JP via bullet. JP then telepathically alerts the police and the Phoenixes leave Kurain.
On the train ride back, he participates in trials with his telepathy and after his eleventh win, he watches Wright go through a Highlights for Children magazine. They are both then surprised by glass shattering and a bullet coming their way. Before JP can react, his Angel Bullet acts on its own accord and changes the sniper bullet’s course. This hits the train conductors leg. During their moments of confusion, Wright’s badge begins to glow and JP reaches out for it. This results in Wright and JP fusing and becoming Phoenix Phoenix.
Phoenix Phoenix stops another bullet in its tracks and then asks the Angel Bullet (which is housing Mary's soul), for some help to get to the other train. The assassin is then disposed of.
Once they are settled back into their seats, Godot flies in through the shattered window.
Godot explains that he has in fact, not escaped Heaven but that he was sent by Saint Peter and God Himself to retrieve Gant and Karma. He also explains that once shot, Angel Bullets trap people’s souls forever. Gumshoe then calls Wright and reports that Trucy has been arrested again and will be on trial for the murder of her principal, Principal Buddy Johnson.
However, the train has been stopped due to the assassins' activities and will not arrive at the courthouse in time so Godot flies them back to LA. On the trip back, they use a pair of magical handcuffs to transport a Damon Gant look-a-like to Heaven for fun.
Once they arrive at the courthouse, JP receives a tie as a gift from Trucy and defends her from the prosecutor, Manfred von Robot, who does not have any arms to handcuff as he is cuboid. Larry Butz is also revealed to be Manfred’s illegitimate son.
While the Judge and JP are almost shot by the Angel Gun, Manfred manages to escape again. JP outs Trucy as Franziska von Karma in disguise because the gift tie actually blocked his psychic powers.
This is when Miles Edgeworth walks in with a sword.
After his introduction, he reveals that he has returned from The War to help bring Gant and Karma to justice. Everyone then goes down into von Robot’s secret hideout which was in the courthouse the whole time. The two fugitives are not in the room so JP concludes that they are in fact, on the roof.Once on the roof, Manfred attacks the Phoenixes with a robot army but the two fuse and Phoenix Phoenix makes short work of them. Godot sends the now Robo-Gant to Heaven with a pair of magical cuffs but Manfred ends up getting away yet again but reveals that he has killed the real Trucy Wright. However, Gumshoe arrives at the rooftop with Trucy and a little old man who introduces himself as Merlin.
Merlin is a real life wizard who has spent the last 2,000 years in a cave. He is the one who created the Angel Guns as a commission from God, made Principal Buddy Johnson's (now Wright's) magical badge, and was forced to create Gant and Manfred's robo-bodies and robot army.
Confused about Buddy Johnson being a lawyer, everyone makes their way to the courthouse again to go over The Big Book of Lawyers which should include Johnson’s information. It does not since the pages with Johnson’s info are ripped out. Wright receives a call from Trucy who states that Nazis have hijacked her school bus. Instead of alerting the police, JP takes matters into his own hands and goes after the bus himself along with a now reformed Matt Engarde with a new motorbike. The two rush to city hall, the Nazis’ destination and catch up to the terrorist group and kill the hell out of them holy moly. JP stops the bus from blowing up and takes care of Trucy’s vest bomb as well.
Just then, one of the corpses reveals that they are not only Nazis, but actually part of the Khurainese Republican Army. There is also an invoice from the Nazis issued to Wright found on the bus.
Phoenix Wright is then arrested and labelled as a terrorist. There is a surprising amount of evidence corroborating that statement.

It outlines his plan to recruit neo-Nazis to the Khurainese Republican Army cause and to cause widespread terror by hijacking school buses and blowing up important places like city halls and Mt. Rushmore. |
The handwriting in the manifesto that was found 100% matches Wright’s handwriting. This is hard for everyone to take in but Merlin speaks up, saying that maybe one of his inventions is to blame, a magical pen for St. Peter that can match anyone's handwriting. Godot is then called back to heaven but entrusts his last pair of magical handcuffs to JP before he leaves. Suddenly, Trucy bursts into the room.

JP then visits Wright in prison. They argue about Trucy’s safety, and JP tells Wright that he is headed to Kurain to track down the real terrorist and pen for the next three days.
He then leaves and in the hallway, he is greeted by Engarde on his bike and Shelly de Killer on JP’s motorcycle that was crafted by Merlin. Once JP inspects the bike, Shelly gets into the sidecar and they all head outside where they are met by reporters asking about Wright’s situation. Merlin meets up with them and then they head out to enlist for The War.
JP passes with flying colors in both the physical and marksmanship but in order to truly become a military lawyer, he must pass a hypothetical trial. He solves and wins it in record time and then meets Carlos Flavioli, Miles’ war buddy. JP, Miles, Shelly, Engarde and Merlin all board The Edgeworth II and start their journey to Kurain. On the way, JP contemplates life and grieves over the loss of his mother and her eternal prison which is the Angel Bullet. He cries.
Later, they fish off the edge of the plane and Merlin laments the fact he only has eight years left to live. He also notes that the stars spell out SOS but the group thinks it's a prank by God. JP tries to contact Maya to see if she can check what is going on but gets no response.

Suddenly a geomagnetic storm hits and Mary guides the plane to safety. JP then contacts Trucy and announces that she has been arrested yet again for murder at the orphanage she was staying at.
The plane finally starts flying over Kurain and JP descends from the sky in his custom bike in order to help Klavier Gavin with his struggle against a zombified Jean Armstrong. Edgeworth lowers a rope and assists Klavier’s team with returning to the US base near Kurain’s capital.
After they touchdown, JP is greeted by General Piston Payne who he ignores in favor of his ice cream. During his ice cream introspection, he notes that the psychic manipulator running around his brain had been fooled by his previous cryfest. He then joins a rescue mission which includes everyone originally on the plane and Klavier’s rescued group which consists of Klavier himself, Max Galactica, Ben Woodman, and Ron DeLite.
JP and the gang take out the camp guards and successfully rescue the prisoners that includes Apollo Justice, Louie DeNonno, Kyle Hyde and Dylan Fitchar. Max is the only casualty during the mission.
Suddenly, the supreme leader of the KRA arrives in hi-tech plated super-armor and introduces themselves as The Dragon. JP quickly figures out that they were the one poking around in his brain.
JP then goes to a plaza in the city where he stops a terrorist attack with his sweet bike. This saves the life of Professor “Hershel” Layton and Luke Triton. The three of them plus Edgeworth then go to eat at a café where they discuss the psychic manipulator and the magic pen. They make plans to go look for the pen after JP’s first trial as a military lawyer.
JP stops by the hospital and Dylan Fitchar is quickly bullied by him.
He then makes his way to the Research and Development wing of the hospital in order to overlook the progress that Merlin and Ema Skye have made on HIS hi-tech plated superarmor. He stops Woodman from killing Ema and proceeds to take him to court. He defends Woodman but immediately gets him the guilty verdict, much to the prosecution, Franziska's delight, and Woodman’s horror.
However, JP manages to get the Judge to rule this as a win for him. He also takes Trilo Quist and gives it to Ema in order to incorporate it into his powersuit. He then leaves to meet up with Layton and Luke.
The trio first stop by a spirit channeling nunnery in order to find out what happened in Heaven. The nuns inform them that no one has been able to channel anyone for a week now. JP threatens a nun and she manages to summon Maya, who is being very cryptic about her death. She informs them that the SOS was indeed a prank and won’t give anymore information. This leads JP to think she was lying and concludes that Maya and the nuns are terrorists. He kills them all.
JP then sends out telepathic messages to the city in order to find out if anyone had seen the pen. One boy responds that he saw The Dragon with it and also mentions The Khurainese Crystal, an ancient treasure, that interests Layton. The trio pinpoint the crystal’s location in an ancient temple high up in the mountains and start their climb. After reaching the top, they solve some puzzles and finally reach the crystal. However, Don Paolo and his eviler twin brother, Juan Paolo, arrive to take it from them. Layton snatches the crystal and makes a run for it while JP throws Luke in a lake. He then confronts Don Paolo and promptly strangles him for info. Don Paolo simply gives JP the pen and JP saves Luke from the situation he put him in. Unfortunately, the brothers make off with the crystal.
JP then contacts Trucy to see how her trial is going along when he receives a response: no one will defend her. JP can’t leave Kurain without more info so he decides to break Kristoph Gavin out of prison so he can defend Trucy.
Merlin then meets up with the temple trio and notifies them that The Dragon has the crystal.

JP then sets out to confront The Dragon. He stops by the base in order to put on his powersuit. It comes with a really cool theme song. After setting flight, he runs into some fighter jets but the shots are deflected by Edgeworth's new plane, the Edgeworth III. The two make their way to the royal palace.
The Dragon, Manfred, the Paolo brothers, Morgan le Fey (channeled by Pearl Fey), Principal Buddy Johnson, Gant, the train conductor and a half werewolf-vampire man are together in front of the palace.
The Dragon calls for the bullied Dylan Fitchar and heals him with the power of the crystal. A fighter jet then crashes into the surrounding crowd. JP in his powersuit rises from the rubble and The Dragon challenges him to a one on one. They fight. Near the end of the fight, The Dragon’s armor flies off and he looks just like JP but with a red mullet. The unmasked Dragon introduces himself as Percy Percival but his real name is John Dragon.

John Dragon then shoots a laser at JP but JP manages to dodge it. In retaliation, JP fires out Trilo Quist. It bites Dragon and while he's distracted, JP shoots JD with the Angel Gun. However, Mary deflects the shot.

According to Dragon, his real mother is Morgan le Fey, who is actually Bethany Edgeworth, who faked her death all those years ago to get away from her wussy husband Greg. However, Morgan had womb cancer so she transplanted Dragon’s fetus into Mary Wright. Mary got pregnant again with JP and once she had returned to America, she gave birth to Dragon who was a stillborn. However, Morgan used a sleeping spell on the room and got Dragon out of there. This led the doctors to believe that JP had died and come back from death.
Morgan then used her magic to bring Dragon back to life but in exchange, she died. Heartbroken from the loss, Dragon’s father left him at the royal palace, where he was renamed to Percy Percival. Dragon then started up the KRA as a response to how his adoptive parents were treating the people. He eventually met up with his biological father again and came up with a Plan. With Morgan being channeled and the ancient crystal's power, the Kurainians and eventually the whole world would be placed under mind control as a way to keep the peace.

JP then contacts the President of the United States to get him to start World War III. Dragon interferes and this results in the president getting beheaded while also starting WWIII.
Nuclear bombs then hit Kurain. The explosions can be seen from LA. The Pope then broadcasts a statement saying as how nuclear war is technically suicide, no one will be able to enter Heaven. The Pope then gets vaporized by a bomb.
It is assumed that JP relays this information to Edgeworth and they decide to fly to Heaven. Edgeworth loses a hand by accident but grows a tail in order to fly his plane again.
Edgeworth’s plane is then joined by a jumbo jet that Larry is piloting along with Storm Sente, the man who came up with the idea of flying to Heaven on Wright's end. With Kristoph and JP protecting the planes from oxidation, all seems well. Layton decides to send Heaven a dove as a symbol of peace but it is electrocuted by Heaven’s emergency forcefield. JP then gets out of the plane and Wright follows his lead. The two jump off of their planes and fuse to become Phoenix Phoenix. JP and Wright know this isn’t enough so they fuse harder than they ever had before. This results in the creation of Phoenix Phoenix Phoenix, 'a gigantic, literal phoenix made out of fire.' The barrier is then broken.
The two planes park at the front gates and see that the whole place was overrun by demons. This is because the Damon look-a-like from earlier was actually Satan in disguise and this was all a ploy to get him into Heaven. Phoenix Phoenix Phoenix then eats Satan. This is when John Dragon bursts through the cloud floor and holds God at gunpoint.
Dragon states that JP had brought a terrorist into Heaven. Phoenix Phoenix Phoenix then goes back to being JP and Wright. JP responds saying that Wright is not a terrorist and that he will defend his uncle.

Wright is then put on trial.
After a heated battle, Wright is found not guilty and Dragon lets out a roar. The roar actually breaks the chains that hold up Heaven and it begins to fall down to Earth. It crashes onto Earth but keeps sinking and after a while, it reaches Hell. John Dragon is still enraged at JP so, he prepares to shoot him. However, John’s kids come out from behind him.

John Dragon becomes terrified and accidentally falls into the burning lake. JP then uses the magic handcuffs to save JD but since Heaven is no longer in the sky, Dragon is teleported to space and spends his last moments there.

He then explodes.
Meanwhile, Hell experiences an earthquake due to damage on the support structures when Heaven crashed into it. The Paolo brothers arrive in a silly flying contraption and rescue JP and his friends with it. Maya is kicked into the burning lake. After reaching the Earth's surface, the pit to Hell closes up and a second Garden of Eden springs from the ground.
God loses his powers so St Peter crowns JP as the new king. However, JP has other plans. He hands the crown over to Wright.

Phoenix Wright, Trucy, Edgeworth, John Phoenix's daughters, Storm Sente, Kristoph, Merlin, God, St. Peter, Kyle, Louie, Godot, Mia, Apollo, Matt Engarde, Shelly de Killer, the Judge, his family, Gumshoe, his son Bobert, Viola, her infant child, Klavier, Larry, Spark, Layton, Luke, Don and Juan, Marvin Grossberg, Franziska, Francesca, Ema, Carlos Flavioli, Ron, Winston Payne and his family, all join in. They are all noted to be the last people on Earth. They then enjoy the feast and Dragon leaves a note and fireworks show in the stars.

Relocation
Shortly after the apocalyptic scenario JP had to go through, he found his universe was on the brink of being wiped out entirely. All of his history, all of his past, present, and future were being threatened by a universal 'cleaning' of his presence. It was a sort of storm he could do little against— an extremely out of character thing for him— and he was forced to jump ship in order to survive. He was taken to a parallel universe where such a wiping could never happen by the trans-universal being Sparky Brushell.
He was placed within this new universe where nothing he ever did mattered, where he or his mother never existed, and was forced to adapt to a new life within this much, much more domestic world. JP noted that it felt like the universe no longer revolved around him, and that he was forced to gain attention by force. Notably, he had to use his psychic powers to implant memories of his and his mother's existence into the new version of his uncle. JP is no longer quite sure what to do with himself after having all his previous accomplishments rendered void, but he does seek to find a way to restore his old universe again... Even if such a thing is impossible.

John's powers were gifted to him by Wright's magical badge. They mainly consist of telekinesis and telepathy. An extension of his telekinesis is flight. He picks up his clothes and takes off to the sky. His telekinesis and telepathy do not seem to be limited by any type of range as JP was in contact with Kristoph Gavin who was all the way in LA from Kurain. He also used his telekinesis to bring Kristoph's cell key to him.
Another extension of his psychic powers is the ability to create forcefields. It is only shown when he made one to cover Edgeworth's jet while they flew to heaven.
John also exhibits super strength and durability. He was not harmed through the duration of the fic and was able to contain Satan in his stomach before purposefully throwing him back up. Flexing his neck muscles broke part of Dragon's powersuit and he has also jumped sixty feet into the air.
He also has extremely keen Logic powers. These are natural and seem to be separate from his psychic powers as von Karma's psychic power blocking tie did not affect them.

His last power is not only his own but also Phoenix Wright's. When JP touches Wright's badge, the two of them can fuse to create Phoenix Phoenix. Phoenix Phoenix is a human being that is half Wright and half JP. They wear a half blue, half green suit with two ties. Their hair is half spiked and half flat. They also have a green and blue aura around them that slows down time. Their hair has a separate aura around it. Within the aura, pictures of previous cases pop up. This represents being a lawyer. However, JP can only control the right half of the body while Wright controls the left. They are also separate entities inside of the body and can communicate with each other through speech. Phoenix Phoenix is also able to shoot energy beams and both sides are able to combine their beams to create an even stronger one.
Phoenix Phoenix can also turn into Phoenix Phoenix Phoenix. This is a giant actual real life phoenix created through their strong wills. With it's strength, it was able to brute force its way through Heaven's security system. It was also able to eat Satan whole.
Trivia
- JP is originally an OC made by Dakoolguy on fanfic.net, and was only discovered by Kitty and Snail after a chance encounter on one of Kitty's fics. Further investigation of him made Kitty and Snail, among other people, obsessed with him as a character.
- Due to the sheer ridiculousness of JP's existence in his canonical interpretation, he was forced to become a trans-universal traveler, though he had been planned to just be a normal person beforehand.
- JP has a Kitty Assigned Vocaloid Song.
- In school, he spent the majority of his time on scratch.com.
- He cannot read or write cursive.
- JP is intensely touch repulsed, and will freak out if he is so much as pat on the back.
